Generating a deck

This is the page that turns a sentence into 78 cards. You choose a quality level, name the deck, describe the art you want, and press create — and nothing is charged until you press Start generation on the next screen.

Find it at /generate, or “Generate” in the navigation bar.

  • Quality tier cardsButton

Three side-by-side cards — Graphic, Collector, Masterpiece — each showing its per-image price and its full-deck price. Selecting one highlights it in gold. Collector is selected by default. A tier that is not yet available is dimmed and cannot be picked.

    Cost650 tokens / 1,100 tokens / 1,500 tokens per full deck
  • Deck titleText field

The name of your deck, shown in your library, in the app, and on the marketplace if you ever list it. You can rename it later.

    LimitsRequired, up to 80 characters
  • Generate all cards nowToggle

On: the full run starts the moment the deck is created, and the create button is held back if your balance can't cover it. Off: the deck is created empty and free — generate cards individually from the deck page, or copy them in from your other decks.

  • Style briefText box

The description of the art you want. This single field has more effect on the result than everything else on the page combined.

    LimitsRequired, 10–2,000 characters
  • Character counterRead-only

Sits under the brief showing how many of the 2,000 characters you have used. The box stops accepting input at the limit, so there is no over-limit state to trim back from.

  • Cost summaryRead-only

Shows the full-deck price for the selected tier, the per-extra-card price, and your current balance. With the generate-all toggle on and a short balance, it shows the shortfall and holds the button back.

  • Create & generate deck / Create empty deckButton

The label follows the toggle. Either way the deck is created and you land on its page; with the toggle on, the full run starts on the way there. A progress line appears while the style guide builds — it usually takes 15–30 seconds.

CostCreation is free; a started run charges the deck price
  • Top up credits →Link

Appears under the button when your balance is below the deck price. Goes to your account page.

Choosing a quality tier

The three tiers differ in how much detail the generator puts into each card, how long a run takes, and what it costs. They do not change the number of cards or the style — a Graphic deck and a Masterpiece deck from the same brief are the same deck at different levels of finish.

TierFull deckMajors onlyPer extra cardCard chat
Graphic650 tokens195 tokens10 tokensNo
Collector1,100 tokens330 tokens20 tokensYes
Masterpiece1,500 tokens500 tokens30 tokensYes

A Collector run takes up to about 30 minutes; Masterpiece can take up to about 90. Graphic is the fastest. All three run in the background — you can close the tab.

Writing a style brief

The brief describes a style, not a scene. Every card is generated against it, so anything you write is applied 78 times — which means concrete, repeatable qualities work and one-off details do not.

  1. Name a medium or a tradition: woodcut, oil painting, risograph print, medieval manuscript, street photography.
  2. Give it a palette: muted jewel tones, bleached pastels, black and gold only.
  3. Say how the figures should be handled: faceless, stylised, photographic, absent entirely.
  4. Name a mood: austere, playful, ominous, domestic.
  5. Stop. The limit is 2,000 characters and briefs near the limit are usually worse than briefs half of it.

What not to put in a brief

Individual card descriptions (“the Fool should be standing on a cliff”) belong on the individual card, not in the brief — every card already has its own scene. Put them in the regenerate prompt on the card page instead.

What happens next

  1. Creating the deck lands you on the deck page with a draft deck and no charge made.
  2. The style guide editor appears above the card grid. This is your last chance to change the palette, typography and frame — see editing a deck.
  3. Start generation charges the run cost once and begins. From here the grid fills in, card by card.
  4. Cards the generator fails on are left empty and cost nothing. You can regenerate them free of charge until an image lands.
Most decks need around ten regenerations to reach a set you are happy with. That is normal, and it is why the per-card price exists. Budget for it rather than expecting the first run to be final.

Common problems

The create button stays greyed out

Either the brief is empty or shorter than 10 characters. The counter under the box tells you which.

“Something went wrong starting your deck”

The most common cause is a brief that trips the safety filter. Your text is checked on its own, before anything else is added to it, so the problem is in what you wrote — reword and try again.

I do not have enough tokens

Create the deck anyway. Creating is free and the deck waits as a draft; top up and press Start when you are ready.
