The iPhone app
Settings (More)
Everything configurable in the app is in the More tab, along with your account, your subscription and the ways of contacting us. This page walks every row.
Settings are per device and take effect immediately — there is nothing to save and no way to lose a change by leaving a screen.
The main screen
- Readings
Reversals, haptics, online readings, how you are addressed, and the reading style.
- Audio & Accessibility
Spoken readings, voice, narration volume and reading text size.
- Learn
All 78 card meanings, searchable.
- Language
The app's language and the downloadable packs.
- Appearance
Background animation, card shine and card animations.
- Buy tokens
Opens the token purchase sheet.
- Subscribe
Opens the subscription plans sheet.
Readings
- Include reversals
Whether cards can land upside down and be read with a shifted emphasis. Turn it off to read upright only.
LimitsOn by default - Haptics
The small physical taps as cards flip and reveal.
LimitsOn by default - Online readings
Whether the plans that include online interpretation use it. Off, every reading is written on your device — private, but shallower.
LimitsOn by default - Address gender
Neutral, feminine or masculine — how a reading grammatically addresses you. This matters in gendered languages and does nothing in English. The tarot figures always keep their own traditional gender regardless.
- Reading style
Opens the style picker, showing the current voice.
Reading style
The reading style changes the voice of an interpretation — how it talks to you. It never changes which cards you drew or what those cards mean.
- Style row
Five voices: Tarot Reader, Joyful Fortune Teller, Fierce Fortune Teller, Wickedly Blunt, and Custom. Tapping one selects it; a tick marks the current choice.
- Preview (play / stop)
Speaks a short sample in that style, with that style's delivery, so you can hear the difference before committing.
- Edit custom style
Only when Custom is selected. Opens the editor for writing your own.
- Custom style text
Describe the voice you want readings written in. A live counter shows how many characters remain.
LimitsUp to 500 characters - Restore default
Returns to the standard Tarot Reader voice.
Audio & Accessibility
- Spoken readings
Turns on the Listen buttons throughout the app. Everything below appears only once this is on.
LimitsOff by default - Voice
Opens the voice picker for the current reading language.
- Narration volume
How loud the narration is relative to the rest of the system.
Limits0.2 to 1.0 - Preview / Stop
Speaks a sample line so you can judge the voice and volume together.
- Reading text size
Scales the reading text, with a live sample paragraph above it. This multiplies with the system text size rather than replacing it, and iPad gets a further increase on top.
Limits0.85 to 1.45, in steps of 0.05
The voice picker
- No voice
The first row. Turns narration off without turning spoken readings off entirely.
- Voice row
The voices available for your reading language, each labelled with its locale and whether it is an Enhanced or Premium quality voice.
- Download voices
Opens iOS Settings, where Apple's higher-quality voices can be downloaded free. This is the single biggest improvement you can make to spoken readings.
Language
36 languages, each downloaded once as a pack and then available offline. Readings in a supported language are written in that language, not translated afterwards.
- Current
The language in use, with a Switch button back to English.
- Available
Every language, each row showing what it needs: Download, Update, Switch, or Active.
- Swipe an installed pack
Reveals a Delete action to reclaim the space.
- Pull down to refresh
Re-fetches the list of available languages and their versions.
If some text still appears in English after switching, the pack has an update waiting. Pull down to refresh and tap Update if it is offered.
Appearance
- Background animation
The slowly drifting background. Off is calmer and kinder to the battery, and it also drives the app's reduced-motion behaviour throughout.
LimitsOff by default - Card shine
The moving highlight across card faces.
LimitsOn by default - Card animations
Whether cards that have a generated loop play it. Turning this off does not lose the animations you have paid for — it just shows the still artwork.
LimitsOn by default
Account
Opens the sign-in sheet: Sign in with Apple, or email and password.
- Sign out
Signs out and clears account-specific state. Your journal stays on the device.
- Delete account
Asks for confirmation, then permanently deletes your account. Your journal entries stay on the phone; anything held on our servers goes, including readings you had saved online.
- Save readings online
Off by default. On, your journal is kept on your account as well as the phone: it opens on any device you sign in on, and on this site under Journal. Turning it on uploads the readings you already have. Turning it off stops new ones going up and leaves what is already there.
- Your films
Every reading film the account has made, newest first, playable in place — including ones made on another device. Films are deleted from our servers 30 days after they are made unless you published them to the gallery; each row says which.
Signing in grants no plan by itself — see plans & tokens.
Subscription
This section shows your current plan, its tagline, the price from the App Store in your own currency, and a ticked list of what it includes. It is a summary rather than a control — changing plans happens in the Subscribe sheet.
Privacy and support
The privacy section is three plain statements about what the app does and does not do with your readings. Below it are the ways to reach us.

Opens this website in your browser.
- Privacy
The privacy summary, in the app.
- Send feedback
A message box that opens an email to us with your app version and device attached. If no mail app is set up, it shows the address with a copy button.

Learn
Learn is the reference for the cards themselves: all 78, grouped into the Major Arcana and the four suits, each with upright and reversed meanings.
- • Search — filters by card name and by keyword, so “grief” finds the cards that carry it.
- • Card grid — five columns of artwork from your active deck. Tapping one opens its meaning.
- • Upright / Reversed — a segmented control on the card page that swaps the meaning, the keywords, and the way the artwork is rotated.
- • Tap the artwork — full screen, where pinch zooms up to five times and a double tap toggles between fit and close.
- • Listen — reads the meaning aloud.
- • Share — renders the card and its meaning as an image.
