The iPhone app

App overview

The app is where you read cards. It opens straight onto today's card with no sign-up, no onboarding and no tour — there genuinely is no first-run flow, because nothing needs setting up before you can draw.

Five tabs across the bottom, thirty-odd screens behind them. On iPad the same five become a sidebar you can collapse.

The five tabs

  • TodayLink

The daily card. Opens here every time you launch the app.

  • ReadingLink

The spread picker — all 44 layouts, grouped into eight themes — and the reading flow itself.

  • DecksLink

Your decks, the deck marketplace, and Deck Studio for generating new ones.

  • JournalLink

Readings you have saved, with your own reflections and any videos you generated.

  • MoreLink

Every setting, plus Learn, your account, subscriptions and support.

What needs an account

Almost nothing. The app keeps its promise that a reading is yours alone by doing as much as possible on the device, and an account only exists for the things that genuinely live on a server.

Works signed out

  • • The Today card
  • • Readings, on every spread your plan allows
  • • The Journal
  • • Learn — all 78 card meanings
  • • Every setting

Needs signing in

  • • Buying or claiming decks
  • • Generating and editing deck art
  • • Card animations and reading videos
  • • Buying tokens or a subscription
  • • Your token balance
Signing in grants you nothing on its own — your plan comes from your App Store subscription, and your tokens from what you have bought. Signing in on a new phone with the same Apple ID brings both with you.

Working offline

On the Free and Seeker plans, readings are written entirely on your iPhone and never touch the network. On the plans that use online interpretation, a weak or absent connection falls back to the on-device engine rather than failing — so you always get a reading.

  • • Decks you own are downloaded to the device and load instantly, offline.
  • • Language packs are downloaded once and then work offline.
  • • The Journal is entirely local.
  • • Anything that generates an image or a video needs a connection.

Conventions used everywhere

  • Back chevronButton

Top left of most screens. The system back gesture — swiping in from the left edge — works everywhere it does.

  • ListenButtonSpoken readings on

Reads the text on screen aloud. Appears on readings, the Today card and card meanings, but only once spoken readings are switched on in Settings.

  • BookmarkButton

Saves the current reading to your Journal. Fills in and disables once saved — a reading can only be saved once.

  • ShareButton

Renders the reading or card as an image and opens the iOS share sheet.

  • BackgroundGesture

The drifting background on every screen responds to touch, fading a halo towards black under your finger. Purely atmospheric — it changes nothing.

Languages

The app is translated into 36 languages. Choosing one in Settings → Language downloads a pack once, after which it works offline, and readings in a supported language are written in that language. Right-to-left languages lay the whole interface out accordingly.

This manual is English-only. Where it quotes a button label, your app will show that label in your own language.
